A Look Back and Forward
For three and a half decades, Jobst Incorporated has provided solid, local field sales to the manufacturers that we partner with. We did not achieve this milestone without the great business relationships we have with our customers.
On behalf of Jobst Incorporated, I would like to thank all of our customers, principals, and staff for the opportunity to work together and, of course, our families for their support.
Walter Jobst Associates was founded back in 1978 by Walter. The business started out of his home, where he and his wife "Kitty" worked together for many years and raised a family together.
I grew up in the business and remember dinners with some of our current principals. There was even a family vacation in the 1980s to Canada and down the east coast in which a plant visit was all a part of the fun.
In 1994 I joined the team. A new office was established in downtown Prior Lake in 1997, and Paula Mumm came aboard. The company incorporated in 1999 and became Jobst Incorporated. More salespeople were added to support the growth. Greg Gripentrog is our newest addition to our staff.
2008 brought more changes when Walter looked to the future when he would want to retire. That year, I purchased the company, celebrated the birth of my first child, and lost my mother, Walter's wife, to cancer. In 2011 I earned CPMR Certification for our firm.
Here it is 35 years later, and Walter Jobst has decided to end his duties. For Walter, being an Independent Sales Representative was always his hobby as well as his job. He has said that it has all been a lot of fun.
We hope he travels more, reads even more for pleasure, and enjoys life with his new bride. The company he started has grown over the years, and no matter how long it has been since he went out on sales calls, customers still ask how he is doing.
Most impressive are the long-standing relationships with some of the principals we started with 35 years ago. It has been a great pleasure to support our customers, and we look forward to continuing and building new relationships.
Here is to another successful year!
